As you may know Fasterfox is a great addon for firefox, but there isn't a version available for Firefox 3. Following these steps can help your firefox become faster over a broadband connection, I saw immediate results after doing this.
WARNING, IF YOU MESS UP YOUR FIREFOX BY CHANGING OR ADDING SOMETHING OTHER THAN WHAT IS MENTIONED IT IS NOT MY FAULT.
1.Type "about
:config" into your adress bar and go to it, you will see this message:

Once you clicked "I'll be careful..." it will look like this.

-In the filter bar search for:
network.http.pipelining
Right click it, and select toggle
making it TRUE
-also search for:
network.http.proxy.pipelining
right click, toggle to
TRUE
-search for:
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
right click, modify to a number like
30, dont go overboard, this is the amount of requests firefox will send a page.
When finish it should look like:

Finally, right click in a blank area and select new, then integer.
name it: nglayout.initialpaint.delay
and give it a value of 0
That means it will wait 0 seconds to act on a webpage.
