GPoints: 3,246 Rep Power: 28 | FFXIII This game looks amazing, i just wiki'd it after looking at Jax's siggy multiple times.
Lighting, refer to my avi for pic.
Final Fantasy XIII's lead character appears as a strong, independent young woman with strawberry blonde hair. She uses the codename "Lightning" to hide her true identity. She was chosen by one of the crystals - though it is unknown which - to destroy Cocoon.[10]
The two yellow stripes on Lightning's left shoulder symbolize her rank and social status.[citation needed] Her weapon can be transformed between a sword and a firearm at will. Lightning is able to use gravity as a tool and weapon, for instance, throwing a small 'gravity bomb' to disable enemies at the start of a battle; indeed, during battle, she seems to be able to defy gravity, almost levitating.
Character designer Tetsuya Nomura was asked to create a "female version of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII", and has described her as "not very feminine".
Only character i really like atm, but srsly this game looks epic. DISCUSS

That being said, being a FF fanboy since the NES, I will most likely be purchasing both games for PS3.

They sure are; in-game and FMV graphics are as close as they've ever been. I'm lookign forward to such eye-candy. /drool
Also, I believe there is another FF mobile game, called Agito XIII, so I think it's basically a triplet game.

GPoints: 3,816 Rep Power: 7 | Haha, I look at FFXII and FFXIII after playing VII and VII.
I miss the good ol' days of square, 3d pixel graphics.
Farthest I've played is X-2 (Wasted my life).
Too poor to get anything past XII; I can bum off a friend.
How have XII and XIII been so far?

GPoints: 3,246 Rep Power: 28 | I prefer the new ones.
I have Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Tactics, both the first ones, just isn't that great.
But Lightning is supposed to be a female equivalent to Cloud so it should be similar?

I remember reading the mags back when FFVII came out, those graphics were breakthrough technology for that era. ;]

Breakthrough technology FTW.
Eh, I just compare and contrast graphics now and then, and it makes me kind of sad. :(

But then again, given the available technology (ps1 vs ps3) between those games and I have to admit, the Square team did try to do their best
Back to FFXIII, the pics that I have seen so far look amazing! I hope that the storyline in XIIIis as absorbing as it was in VII, so far none of the others can beat VII in that regard.
