Plus, all the cheat codes are fun! haha. and side missions like Insurance Fraud and stuff keep you playing LONG after you beat it!
What is your opinion?

i have owned and beaten all the gta games... and well.. saints row 2 is just better in my eyes... sure the gameplay is alot shorter and the world is alot smaller but it seems theres so much more to do
and well the fact that you can do freeroam multiplayer made it like 30000000000x better then gta... and well gta has the shittyest online gameplay ever.. well next to turning point... that game was just HORRABLE

GPoints: 496 Rep Power: 2 | Having played and beaten both 3 times, I can safely say that, in my opinion, Saints row two is a better game for those people who liked the original GTA games. It is a return to the wacky fun that GTA used to provide. Without spoiling anything, I will just say that the ending of GTA 4 fucks you over no matter what you do or decide throughout the rest of the game which really just makes me ask what the point of all of it was. The "gritty realism" that left GTA 4 covered in dog-shit and gun metal coloring and forced the ending to fuck you over no matter what you did. There was no good ending, no way to succeed. Only loss. On the upside, some of the characters are actually somewhat likable but this only serves to make the ending more of a kick to the balls (or, to avoid sexism, A cunt-punt if you are female. Feel better ladies? Didn't think so.)
Saints Row two on the other hand, not only allows you to be wacky and have fun but actually rewards you for it! And the ending, is actually satisfying and left me feeling happy instead of crappy. The level of customization for your gang and your character (cars all have features and colors, the clothes you wear, the clothes your gang wears, the cars your gang drives, the clothes your gang wears, the personality of your gang, your fighting style, I could go on) makes the game incredibly repayable but that huge bonus receives a slight fracture from my main disappointment. That is that there are only 3 voices to choose from, Aussie, Black, or Emo (Mexican? I don't honestly know, he keeps talking about how he kills out of love...he does talk in Spanish some times but I don't honestly care.) and only one of the three is well acted. None of the female voices were very well acted in my opinion. But the fact that I need to look THAT FAR to find something that I don't like and the fact that something this small is my largest complaint is proof of how good the game is. There is also a respect factor which forces you to play mini games but I must say I am glad it was implemented. There is a good chance that I would not have played the mini games otherwise and almost all of them are incredibly entertaining. In addition, you do not need to play all of the mini games to beat the game so you can avoid the ones you do not like and winning them also provides bonuses that help your character get the edge over rival gangs.
I would say that this comes down to personal taste but Saints Row Two is so significantly better in the areas that it shares with GTA4 (combat, driving, general game mechanics) that I must say that it is the superior game.
