Sega Saturn Emulation ~
Ok since I'm a big dork and enjoy old games from time to time... I thought I'd post up some of the better Sega Saturn games I've come across ^^!! (That and I don't see a thread around here that have any?! Foreshame >.>)
First of all you're going to need a good Sega Saturn Emulator. I recommend SSF. I've been using it for a long while and love it. This site has everything you need to know and easy to follow instructions and handy download links on the left side panel. You should be able to get up and running easily if you're not a complete moron... >.>
SSF Site:
SSF Saturn Emulator Compatibility
Click on "Essential Downloads" and you'll be taken to a page that has links to everything you need...
keep the BIOS files you download in the same folder that you install SSF in.
OK.
Configuring the BIOS and other settings can be tricky with SSF for certain games. If you have trouble try the forums on the site listed above. Many helpful threads ^^. It's not too hard.
Now that you have SSF and the necessary BIOS and Plugins we'll look at some ROMS (games... I hope you know what a ROM is... if not gtfo)
ROMS(I technically have more but, I'll share a couple ^^)
(
torrent links for now, I'll upload direct links LATER ON)
38 SS Roms!(Corpse Killer, Dragon Force II, etc <3)
Demonoid.com - Sega Saturn Games 38 of them (torrent link)
Nights Into Dreams AND Nights into Dreams Christmas!
Demonoid.com - NiGHTS into Dreams + Christmas NiGHTS (Bin/Cue) (torrent link)
Pretty much if you go to torrent sites and search for "sega saturn" something should come up ^^. Demonoid is where I go for this kind of thing because that site is pretty good about having older hard to find ROMS. ^^
To Play the Games:
With this emulator you have to mount the Rom Image (.Bin File) using a virtual drive (daemon tools works the best and it's easy to use)
- THE DAEMONS HOME
Once your image is mounted open up SSF and it should start automatically and boot the game. If it doesn't, try using a different BIOS file. When you download the BIOS for SSF there will be a (J), (U), and perhaps a couple more. Just mess around under the settings in SSF and try rebooting the game till it works. It's what I do if I have an error.
You have to UNMOUNT your ROM image from daemon tools and open up SSF and go under options to change out the BIOS file you are using or you might get an error while doing so. If SSF closes after you change the BIOS file you are using don't worry. Just remount your ROM image and open up SSF and enjoy. ^^!!!
Remember... just mess around with settings till you get stuff working... if all else fails googles "SSF Sega Saturn help" or go to the first site I linked up there and search the forums. You'll find what you need there.
Have fun ~
