| Hehe I was reading about this just the other day, too. Wish I could find the link again. But according to the site, Blizzard is working on World of Warcraft's final two expansions. They are going to be about the Emerald Dream and the Maelstrom (the event which tore the megacontinent apart, leaving EK and Kalimdor).
Emerald Dream's portals already exist, and since Wrath came out, Emeriss (world dragon boss) went missing. Ysera is also in the game now (he's asleep in Dragonblight), which only means they're laying down the groundwork to the Emerald Dream. Gamewise, the actual ED zones will be under the old-world continents (there's already a lot of unfinished unaccessible ED zones in your gamefiles, they're just going to be expanded).
Lorewise, ED and Maelstrom is all they have left to cover in the World of Warcraft. I'm going to miss it too. But my god, having an L100 character is going to be SCARY. 120k Tanks, anyone?
Oh, WoW will never really die. After it's all gone, there will be fan-servers. It's happened with many old MMORPGS.
(Additional + OT: MMORPG = Many Men Online Role Playing Girls =P )
