It really depends on what kind of games you enjoy playing, tbh. I enjoy WoW greatly, though some of my friends don't.

As far as actually playing, you're right on both counts. You'd have to buy the game (and expansion) AS WELL as pay a monthly fee.

On the other hand, there are plenty of freeservers that are out there, many with their own, custom content. You'd still have to either buy the game/expansion or find somewhere to download them.

Hope this helps in some way or another.

YES.
I love wow.
Nice graphics, nice gameplay.
Since it's 15 a month, I doubt mom's and dad's are going to let the little kids play, which may I say SOMETIMES ruins the gameplay.
I know a few 9-12 year olds who are amazing at it.
WoW is a real good game.

WoW is pretty fantastic, but like Pure said, it really depends on what you like.
My boyfriend got me hooked on it and I've been playing a warlock ever since.
:B
It can get addicting though, so be careful.

WoW is extremely addicting. To play, you have to buy it from a store, Walmart should have it, as well as pay $14.99 a month (More precisely hehe) Your first month is free, and from what I have heard, if you get a friend to join, you get a free month. The "Free servers" are called "Private Servers" and are generally laggy and glitchy, some you come across will run nicely, but some veteran people on that server have the best items that server has to offer, and generally 1 shot you with ease. And these servers can get you banned from WoW if the GMs find out.

Its not that addicting.
And the graphics are based on Warcraft, so they look kiddy and not very good.
I'll stick with Cabal, then play AioN when its in OB.

One good thing is that its probably updated and high moderated.

If you wanted, you can play private servers, (a.k.a. "free" servers) for, get ready for it : free. Just download the trial account on blizzards website and change the realmlist.wtf to the private server's ip. Main thing you gotta do is get the burning crusade off a bit torrent, and get your client up-to-date patch wise. Also, lag all depends on the server; alot of servers pay money to have the dedicated servers, so if you look around you can find a server that has virtually no lag.
