Bah, so I was trying to get Rosetta Stone to work again earlier (many of you have already heard about my troubles with that), when I get a nice message that I've got a trojan. Well, thx for the warning, delete the thing, yada, yada. Another pops up. K, stop trying to open the damn program and lets run a virus scan. That took 4 hours!! During which time, I couldn't use the internet because it slowed it down horribly :(. So yeah, virus scan turns up with nothing (though when I try opening RS again, I get the same message). SO I need to get a new version of that, fine.

Then, I try to get back on the internet, and firefox won't open! So, I restart. Yay for remembering this step before I get too frustrated (I often forget). Nope, still won't open. Is it just the shortcuts? Nope, won't open from program files either. K, suck it up, use IE and reinstall. Nope, still won't work.

Ok, so how bout a adware scan.... (doing that currently), then I suppose I will try reinstalling again :-/. In the meantime, I have to put up with rediculously slow IE that keeps trying to block me from going to even pages on this site (some nasty spyware is trying to interfere). Bah. /endrant

On another note, I didn't realize we actually had ads on this site

I'd really rather not do a system restore, but I might have to. I don't remember when the last time I made a restore point was, but I know it's been quite awhile. But now Windows has detected some trojan downloaders and gotten rid of them, I believe I have cleared my cpu of viruses and spyware, but firefox won't open no matter how many times I reinstall it, and when I open IE, it freezes. I'm now using safari, which isn't awful actually (I'll need to remember that the next time I think I'm forced to use IE), but could windows somehow be blocking firefox? And how can I change that? Bah, I've spent all day cleaning my room while running various scans on this damn thing. I've deleted RS and idk, BAH!!!!

Now I'm questioning whether I should install my Rosetta Stone. Dx

I don't know that that caused it for sure, it may have become infected by something else. If you got it from fire though, it's probably fine, I got it from another site. I download lots of things all the time so....I can't pinpoint it unfortunately. THough nothing else has seemed to be infected (other that the random windows files that have a tendency to be taken over)

Haha, I beat the sucker. At least I still had some sort of internet browser. So I ended up trying all sorts of things doing a clean install etc. I ended up simply having to name the firefox.exe file differently (firefox1.exe). It worked which means there is still something living in my cpu that needs to go away. I will find it though (think cliche hero on a mountain pumping fist in air in determination).

Ooh, an addition to my annoyance, the dam thing won't let me use my disc drive, which means no nightly anime....I hate you, you stupid virus!
