Yeah... my lobes used to get infected every single time i shoved anything into them, ever since kindergarten. However, now that I've been sticking it out and keeping jewelry in there, they don't hurt at all. They just get itchy once in awhile- I say try something new! :]
OH. But go to a real piercing shop. None of that claire's bullshit.

I'd love a navel ring, but am too scared I'd get it caught on my clothes (clumsy thing that I am) | |

And after going to the gym it's such a drag cus I have to wash it right after or it gets all nasty. Or if you're doing the butt machine thing where you have to lay on your tummy, it sorta hurts. Mine does since it's still healing.

GPoints: 900 Rep Power: 4 | Mine actually got ripped out because it got caught on something o.O. Now whenever I've repierced it, it rejects (though I've done it myself after the original time, so it might be bad piercing technique causing it). Either way, it's annoying.
And Shorty: I think you could pull off a stud, but a hoop would probably look weird on you. | |
