Nitrous Oxide - Should I be worried?

I'm going to have my very first surgery tomorrow. They are going to pull all four of my wisdom teeth. They said they are going to put me on nitrous oxide. I am just wondering what I'm getting myself into. They made me nervous when they said I have to have someone with me afterwards. I mean I'm pretty good at holding my composure on weed and for the most part on alcohol. I've just never had nitrous oxide before, let alone a big enough amount to knock me out. I figured that some of you kids may have tried it and could have some insight for me?

It's not anything to really worry about. They want someone there with you after to take you home and take care of you till you're ok again. Think of it this way, everything has a chance to be dangerous, they are just minimizing any risk that something will happen which is already low. And you will probably be groggy when you wake up.

Youre going to be very loopy and out of it after wards. When my boyfriend got his taken out I picked him and he was just a blabbering idiot. I ran to the store to get him Popsicles and come out and he got out of the car attempting to pump my gas, although we werent at a gas station. And it was like truth serum, he 'confessed' some arkward things. The thing I think you need to be more worried about it the Oxys that you will be taking afterwards; very easy to get addicted to so make sure you have someone regulating them.

When I was like 5 they put me on nitrous oxide for something for my teeth I don't exactly remember what it was, but I guess my parents brought me home and all I did was sit on my knees stare at the wall and drool until I came out of it.

Don't be a pussy bug.
I got Knee surgery june 2nd, they gave me some shots etc, and I don't remember anything after going to the surgery floor xD

I was just in the surgery waiting room and then they went to take me to the surgery area and i was out like instantly. xD

Then I woke up felt like shit, took so many pills etc. xD

They are just giving you N/O cause its like laughing gas, and works easy, have them give you a cherry scented clown nose xD

You just need someone there after so you can get home, becuase they have to drive you probably.

I'm not really afraid of the pain, it's the pain killers. I'm a lightweight when it comes to dope and I've got a lot of skeletons in the closet.

I always get nitrus oxide at the dentist. Because I hate and fear the dentist, but I fear not going to the dentist and having bad teeth more.
I've never had wisdom teeth pulled, but as for the nitrus oxide, I wasn't very loopy at all afterwards. It calmed me down a lot and it seems to have an effect that makes time pass faster. So I felt like I had only been sitting in the chair for like, 15 minutes when it had been an hour, which was cool.
They put the mask ( for the gas) on me at first before the dentist even came around so you're nice and calm if you get freaked out for the needles (to freeze your mouth).
Nitrus Oxide is great O_o. Nothing to fear there.

As for the Oxycontin they may give you afterwards, I've recieved that too from the dentist. They never give it to you in quantities where you could possibly become dependent on it.
