GPoints: 609 Rep Power: 3 | What program do you use to remove viruses? I recently ran a virus check on my computer and there are a few high risk viruses that cannot be removed by the free scanner.
I used Norton Security Scan to run it but it fails to remove the files. So what program do you guys use to remove viruses?

There are alot of free antivirus softwares, why don't you get one? IMHO, the best one is AVG. However, there are some other alternatives like Avast and, of course, paid ones.

I thought Norton removed some low risk viruses before. =/

But seriously, norton will eat the shit out of your system resources if you ever try and get rid of it, just better not to let it into your system in the first place.

GPoints: 609 Rep Power: 3 | My school is offering us a free copy of Symantec AntiVirus and also recommending Ad-Aware and Microsoft AntiSpyware. I installed Symantec already, but I'm looking for a useful anti-spyware software now. Are those recommended by the school useful? Or they suck?
Anyway, being the computer dummy that I am, what's the difference between Antivirus and Antispyware? Which one removes viruses?
I tried to remove Norton Security but it doesn't seem to be working. =/

GPoints: 2,070 Rep Power: 7 | =/ it's too late noooo all you can do now is pray, Norton is horrible about entangling itself in your computer, NOD32 is a seriously good program, I'm downloading it again right now, i used to have a cracked version then switched to something else, now I'm using AVAST! which is pretty good, but I'd rather have NOD32, so try to get NOD32, for virus removal.
