Project Smiles

This isn't a request this is an open project that has been approved by Nomhak. Anyone is allow to par take within this project if they feel they are up to it.

You can use any program for Project Smiles.

Lets get started on this shall we?
With this project we'll be editing and fixing up the smilies we use here at Gaming Gutter.

If most of you haven't notice is that most of the smiles look choppy or have white marks on around them. The main part of this project is to fix them up to make them not look so crappy.

Still have no clue what I"m talking about?
Take a look < Choppy> < White stuff >

Now here is a list of smiles that won't need to be edited or fixed.

Currently there isn't a deadline to these but think about it the quicker we get this done the better.

Also to those who would like to apply be on the GFX Team think of this as request that you may show to the staff to prove what your able to do.

The one I tried to do, It worked out allright, except I couldnt save it as gif without it coming out shitty >>;

gif & JPEG is what keeps the file size low. You can save it as a png file also if you want.

I'll be working on the animated smiles since I have Image Ready.

using png's with 32 colors only really saves space. only 439 bytes over the Gif's massive 669 bytes.

(Do this using photoshop's save for web [alt+shift+control+S])

Looks alright but still looks kinda choppy.
Edit: I would like everyone to do the whole set of images.
If you can't do an animated image skip it.
The best smiles out of each users batch of smiles will be picked.

I'll be working on my batch tonight when I"m able to be on my laptop which has Photoshop.

Here's a tip for Photoshop users to get rid of the edges.
Duplicate your image layer, and go to Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur. range from .5(if you can do .5)~1. Shift click the image panel in the layers menu (the unblurred original layer) and then go to and select the blurred layer, whip out the eraser and erase.

What this should do is make the blurred layer a simple ring around the original layer removing any white fuzz.

This is a simple tip, I didn't try it, but its a quick way to remove fuzz on larger scale images.
