GPoints: 7,265 Rep Power: 8 | Highlighting With Gradient Tool I'd don't know how many
people this will be of any
use for. But it was fun.
;;
You will need a tablet pen
for the majority of this.
Don't have one?
Buy one there cool. : D This Tutorial is also for Photoshop users.
Any version should work. I have CS3. Let's get started. Step One:
open a new canvas
and sketch out your drawing in a light color. Step two: In the Menu Bar on top find
"Windows">"Brushes"
It should bring you to this:
Select "Shape Dynamics"
This let's you make your
brush size thicker or thinner
by the amount of pressure
you put on your tablet pen.
Nifty. Now create two more Layers,
Make sure your Outline layer
is above both color and background
like shown.
And begin outlining your sketch. You should now have something like this.
You can erase the lighter color now. Step Three: Now we're ready for
some magic.
Well, the magic wand tool
that is. So find it in your
tools to the left. Now that we have our magic wand,
select in area on your outline to color. Now that you have your
area selected, switch to your
"color" layer.
Use the Paint Bucket tool
and fill in your selected area. Continue this until your
Outline is fully colored.
Like so: Step Four: Now that we've got our
color it's time for some
simple shading.
So whip out that magic want,
and head back to your outline layer.
Select an area you want to
shade first and go back to your
color layer to do so. Step Five: Almost done!
Now that our shading finished,
Lets add some spiffy highlights.
Stay on the Color layer,
and select the Lasso tool. Using the Lasso, select the areas
you would like to highlight.
Now find the Gradient tool,
Your settings should look
something like this, but you
can play around with it and
find whatever you like best. Now drag your Gradient tool line across the area you selected using the Lasso tool. It should look like this: Continue this process through out your
picture, and you'll have yourself
a nicely highlighted master piece. TA DA

exactly you want something
small like my little pikachu here
would be only about 10k.
