Ok, this is my first tutorial so don't be too hard on me, I know it's basic, but creating a pop-out sig is simple.
Questions, suggestions and constructive criticism
Creating a pop-out signature
The final product will look something like
this Step 1.
Find a render that you wish to use. For pop-out sigs i prefer to use bold cartoony images.
This is the render I have chosen
Step 2.
Create a background for your sig (with text) as you would a normal sig, using colours found from your render.
A pixel stretch will work well
Here is my background
This image will be referred to as 'image1' for the rest of the tutorial
Step 3.
Open a new document in photoshop, make the size around 500 x 500px, so you have a big area to work in.
Fill the background according to the background colours of the forum you're making the sig for.
Make sure your render, background and 'image1' are open in photoshop.
Step 4.
Paste the render and image1 into the 500 x 500px document.
Resize the render and position it where you want, like in this image:
Merge the render and image1 layers together, so that you only have two layers.
Step 5.
Now, we are going to add a drop shadow.
Right click the top layer in the layers pallete
like so:
And click blending options, use these settings, and click OK:
Just one more thing to do!
Now merge your layers, use the crop tool to crop your image so that the whole sig is visible but it is kept at a reasonable size and you should have something like this:
