Speed up Firefox

Note: This only works for Broadband users.

Ok, I'm actually surprised I didn't see this one in here already. Well, it's nice and simple:

1- Type "about:config" without the quotes in the address bar

2-Filter to find these properties:
  • network.http.pipelining
  • network.http.proxy.pipelining
  • network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
3-Right Click them and
  • Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
  • Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
  • Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to 8

4- Right Click anywhere and select new->Integer. Name it
“nglayout.initialpaint.delay” also without the quotes and set the value to 0

This will make pages load much faster.

I searched and didn't see it, if this is already posted, feel free to delete it.

step 2 was kinda hard, they way you had the code thingy was wrong, you put "network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests"
it should be 2 parts like network.http.pipelining"
"network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests"

i know that threw me off, i dont know if it did anyone else

I don't really know how to set the value. and integer keeps turning into boolean. ;-;

i know with the max request one, it makes it where you can have more than x number of pages loading at once but thats it

It starts off loading the page the same speed (slower actually) but then when it starts to pop up, its goes super fast, and it all loads at once.

I think it's possible that it's just an illusion of extra speed. Maybe not. I don't know. ^^

It makes me happy to wait an extra second and then have everything already loaded.

I edited it slightly to make it easier to read. And for the record, this is what each does:

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests -> how many requests it can receive at once (it won't get any faster after like 8 though

The two booleans just allow the above to happen, and the one I had you add is used to determine how long Firefox waits until it begins accepting data.
